A Return to the Water

"A lesson from the water -
Remember, forgive, and create life with love."

From July 10, 2025

Good day to you, sweethearts.

First off, I'd like to express how grateful I am for you. Times they do be continuing to be surreal and horrifying, and I know so many of us are working hard to stay out of the fear of the unknown. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your support in my life and my work, and that you continue to choose me as a part of your love and care team. Giving ourselves time to rest and reset our nervous systems is a bold act of courage and a way to gather strength for our collective future.

Over the last year I have been traveling to California to receive training from my teacher and mermaid mother Diane Feingold, in Water Release Therapy® , a modality of aquatic bodywork that is designed to release trauma, old patterns, and holding that is stored in the body and mind. To me it most closely relates to restorative yoga but done assisted and in warm water. I am still finding the words to describe the lifelong journey that led me to this work, and the process of its teachings over the last year, but it truly is such profound and magical work and it is an honor to weave it into my offerings to you. When that will happen has yet to unfold but it is in the works and I am so excited to share more soon.

I've realized too in sharing about this work that a lot of y'all are unaware of my background in aquatics. I swam competitively throughout my childhood and into college as a masters swimmer. I started teaching when I was 11, coached teams, coordinated lesson programs, and owned and operated a swim school with my family back in Georgia. Most of my life has revolved around water. Water is one of the things that drew me to Minnesota in the first place - the idea of being surrounded by it moved me to my core. It is where I find my center.

Being in and around water calms and connects us - it heals us. What we feel, love, and experience ripples all around us. Water reminds us that we are all connected. Water Healer Rocio Navarro tells us that "water holds memory. Water teaches us that we are never truly separate. That our regulation, our grief, our care, all ripple into the larger collective field." In a time rife with grief and sorrow, I believe a return to water is something we all need.

In addition to expanding the beauty of WRT® into the Twin Cities, I am going back to my roots and will be offering swim lessons this summer. If you are interested in finding new comfort in the water, fine tuning strokes and breathwork, or even starting fresh in the water, please reach out. One of the great joys in my life has been witnessing humans of all ages break through discomforts and fears in the water, and discovering their strength and power amplified by the water. Beginning next week I'll be teaching from a dear friend's private pool in Arden Hills and I would love to greet you there.

What are you checking off this list this summer? I'm finding joy in the garden, in my home with Peach, my sweetheart Ross and his dog Louise, and we just returned from a week down south where we were loaded up with so much laughter, love, and bacon with our families that I'm still filled up days and days later.

Thank you for sharing your life and love with me. I sure do love you.
