WRT Water Release Therapy®
WRT Water Release Therapy® is a beautifully crafted aquatic art developed by my mentor, Diane Feingold. It blends elements from Watsu, WaterDance, deep presence, breathwork, and yoga. In each session, you will be gently guided through stretches while being lovingly massaged and supported by both myself and the water. Immersed in this warm environment (pool temperature is 95-97 degrees,) your nervous system can find harmony and allows your body and cells a unique way of connecting with the water. This therapy fosters healing integration both above and below the surface, as you may be gradually submerged to explore the liberating potential of the water. Floatation supports are worn around the calves, and a nose clip is placed on you as well.
Water has a way of revealing so much. It is a sacred mirror. Every session is a blessing and a prayer. This work opens us up to a quiet in our bodies and minds that can be a rare place to get to, allowing a deep listening and awareness of the subtle workings of each. The noise and chaos of the world feels inescapable at times. The water gifts us endless opportunities to tune into our inner world and find that divine sweetness through trust and surrender. Through my own experiences with WRT®, I’ve discovered a profound connection to my heart and mind, feeling one with the water in an embrace that brings about a deep sense of calm and nurturance. I am eternally grateful to be held by the water, and to now work with her in this way. I am honored to share this journey with you and be a guide to new possibilities through the healing power of water.
FAQ
1. Who benefits from WRT Water Release Therapy®?
Every breathing human… particularly anyone with stress, anxiety, pain, difficulty sleeping, expectant mothers, people suffering from PTSD, someone looking for a transformative and nurturing experience. For more info please visit https://wrtwaterreleasetherapy.com/.
2. Do I need to know how to swim?
No, you do not need to know how to swim. You will have floats on your legs and will be supported by me at all times. If you have a fear of water, we will work together to gently acclimate you to the pool. I have had many clients come to these sessions carrying trauma from water related experiences. Each one has left their session trusting themselves and the water more, and excited to continue deepening their relationship with water.
3. What is the difference between WRT Water Release Therapy® and Watsu®?
When receiving Watsu® the client’s face remains above water. With WRT Water Release Therapy® we take the work underwater with the assistance of a nose clip. This can give you access to a deeper, perhaps even more profound, experience.
4. What if I don’t like getting water in my ears?
Please bring your own earplugs if this is the case. I recommend Macks ear puddy. It creates a great, comfortable seal. I also recommend bringing drops for after.
5. What if I have an emotional response during?
There are times that this therapy can give rise and expression to deeply held emotions such as grief or anger. Because I understand that response, I am comfortable allowing that emotion to surface and be expressed in a safe way. There is no wrong way to receive a WRT Water Release Therapy® session. Each session is unique and you can simply relax and allow whatever rises to the surface to be.
6. Will we be around other people?
An attendant at the center will greet you and show you to the locker room and pool area, but we will have the pool to ourselves and no one else will be in the pool area.
7. Are there any contraindications for receiving this work?
Any skin disorders, open wounds, untreated blood pressure conditions, history of fainting, tracheotomy, and incontinence are contraindicated. If you have had any recent surgeries we may need a note from your doctor stating that it is safe, and that you are cleared to enter the water for therapy.
If you are Paraplegic or Quadriplegic be sure to bring a helper to help lift you into the pool and assist you out at the end of our session. Our pool does have a zero entry access so you will be able to come in easily if you have a water wheelchair.
8. What is the temperature of the pool?
We keep the pool at 95-97 degrees.
9. What do I need to do to prepare for my session?
Arrive 15 minutes before our session to acquaint yourself with the location and locker room. Bring a water bottle, towel, swimsuit, and toiletries you’d desire for your after-session shower. Shower before entering the pool.
